About Our Diamonds

Our diamond buyer is trained by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and has over 15 years experience in the diamond industry. To ensure the highest quality diamonds for our clients and in our products, prior to mounting we grade each diamond on a Sarin Diamension proportion grading machine and a Gran Colormeter.

The Sarin DiaMension proportion analyzer provides the most accurate evaluation of diamond proportion measurements available today. It is used by GIA, American Gem Society (AGS) and other gemological laboratories to analyze diamond proportions. The Gran colormeter is used to grade color, a key-determining factor of a diamond's beauty and value. Our colormeter is set to strict GIA standards.

All our diamonds (larger than .50ct.) come with an appraisal and diamond grading report(s) from our GIA diamond professional and a full 45-day return policy.

Compare our Grading Report (DGR) with an AGS Certification. By request, GIA and AGS certifications are also available on all our diamonds for an additional cost. Learn more about diamonds in our education center.

45-Day Satisfaction Return Policy

Diamond Design Co. - Original by J bases our Success on your Satisfaction, therefore we stand behind our product quality and your satisfaction with a 45-day return policy for all our products (loose diamonds and custom orders may be excepted). If you are not completely satisfied with any item purchased from The Diamond Design Co., we will fully refund your purchase price (custom design fees and shipping charges are non-refundable).

We accept returns for refunds on all jewelry items, or gifts, with the exception of items that have been resized, altered, damaged in any way, or the applicable JEWELRY IDENTIFICATION TAG has been removed. If you decide to return your purchase for a refund within 45 days after receipt of your purchase, you must obtain a Return Authorization Code (RAC). which you will need to write on the return shipping label and the original invoice. Packages that do not have a RAC will be returned to sender.

The original invoice must be included in the returned package. Return merchandise, unaltered with the original packaging, including the gift boxes as applicable. We cannot accept merchandise that has been altered or damaged, or is not returned to us within 45 days. A minimum fee of $10 will be assessed for damaged packaging, e.g., ring boxes.

Once we have received your package and upon approval, please allow 7-10 business days to confirm credit with your credit card processor.

Photos & Descriptions

The Diamond Design Company - Original by J is a fine quality jewelry manufacturer. We use the most advanced processes in the industry and while we take every precaution to accurately describe our products and "render" our photos, there are times when errors, omissions or screen/photo quality distorts an aspect of a finished product. If you are not 100% completely satisfied with the finished product, we will gladly refund or exchange your purchase.

Product Availability & Pricing

Infrequently, data may be inaccurately displayed on our site due to system errors. While we make every attempt to avoid these errors, they may occur. We reserve the right to correct any and all errors when they do occur and we do not honor inaccurate or erroneous prices. Our prices are also subject to change without notice. To avoid unnecessary resizing and shipping fees, prior to placing your order, it is essential to know your correct ring size. While we are happy to assist you with this process, we always recommend going to your local jeweler and trying on similar rings to find the most comfortable size. Alternatively, if the ring is a gift, find a ring of the recipient’s and have a jeweler estimate the size for you.

If for some reason, upon receipt of your ring you still require resizing, we will be happy to accommodate you for resizing within 30 days of your purchase plus a small handling fee of $10.00. To send back your ring, please go to our Resize Item Page for detailed instructions for sending your ring back to us.

After 30 days, ring resizes are $50, please email us at returns@diamonddesignco.com to get a return authoriziation (RA) code to return your ring for resizing. Packages sent without an RA code will be refused.

Please note that "eternity rings" and some custom orders cannot be resized and must be completely rebuilt for a minimum cost of $150.00, so please know your exact ring size. Contact us for any questions you might have prior to placing your order, contactus@diamonddesignco.com.

PLEASE NOTE: If your SHIPPING address is different than your BILLING address, for your protection and to avoid delays in shipping please notify your credit card company of your alternate address.

All shipping addresses MUST BE ON FILE WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD ISSUER, NO DELIVERY ADDRESS CHANGE REQUESTS ARE AUTHROIZED. If an "in transit" address change is made, a $20 fee will be assessed on your order.

Most items will ship within 5-7 business days (custom orders may take longer or orders paid by check).FedEx or UPS Ground Shipping is complimentary.

For jewelry items, clients may also request alternative shipping methods for an additional fee as follows:

Clients are notified via email when an item has shipped, which includes all tracking information for your order. All items are fully insured from our door to yours. Signature is Required --- SIGNATURE RELEASE WILL BE OVERRIDDEN. Please verify signature release status with FedEX and UPS. For your protection, if you have a "signature release on file" you will be required to pick-up your package at the local FedEx or UPS office.

How long will it take to get my item? See estimating chart below. Please note estimates are in "Business" days and please consider the time of your order to estimate start time. Our hours are 8 am - 5pm (PST).
